👋 Meet the Team: Jamie – Serial Hire Guy

Jamie is the driving force behind RES Management — and he’s no stranger to the hire industry. With decades of experience across several hire businesses, he’s what you’d call a serial hire guy, bringing deep operational insight, industry knowledge, and a hands-on approach to every job.

Over the years, Jamie saw a growing gap in the market — not in the equipment itself, but in the service surrounding hire and rental. As larger companies facing increased cost pressures employed less experienced staff stuck behind a desk, he became frustrated with limited capacity to truly support clients on-site in their specific environment. 

Jamie knew the real value lies in scoping the right solution, coordinating logistics, and managing hire projects so clients can keep their operations moving smoothly and efficiently. That’s what RES was built on — real service, by people who know the industry and show up where it counts.

Mike Lynch

👋 Meet Mike – Access Specialist & All-Round Problem Solver

From hospitality to heavy machinery, Mike has taken an unconventional path to the world of hire and rental. Every step has built the foundation for the work he does today.

Starting out in hospo, Mike developed a solid toolkit: small talk, reading the room, managing people, and responding with a smile (even to the most outrageous requests). When the works wasn’t hitting right, he pivoted into machinery, earning licences for forklifts, dangerous goods, tracks and rollers. Everything short of a class five.

After a stint with Access Solutions (where he met Jamie) and some time out on ACC, Mike found a long-term home at RES, where he’s been getting the job done for over four years. Whether it’s scaffolding, transport, logistics, or last-minute fixes, Mike thrives on the challenge and on making sure Jamie doesn’t pull his hair out.

Creative problem-solving is part of the job, especially when a scaffold becomes a full-scale adult Meccano set. There’s real satisfaction in delivering a neat solution in an environment that is rarely flat and obstacle-free, that keeps clients happy and jobs moving.

In terms of equipment, Mike has a soft spot for the spider boom (think: tank tracks, fits through a doorway, and gets you 18 metres in the air). He keeps an eye on where machinery is headed, especially as equipment gets smarter and more digital. He loves sharing knowledge and helping customers get the best out of the gear.

Yes, rainy days are the worst. And yes, mistakes weigh heavy. But that’s because Mike genuinely cares (he’s the grumpy care bear). It’s that pride in his work, attention to detail, and commitment to solving problems on the fly that makes him such a vital part of the RES team.
